Where do you go to for all your makeup and beauty tips?
Whilst I was formally trained in makeup artistry many moons ago, the greatest learning I have had with makeup is with my own face. I am neither inspired nor motivated to purchase makeup products from watching tutorials online nor sitting in a department store having my makeup professionally done.
Why do I say this?
Because I know my face, the texture and colour of my skin, the shape of my eyes, the length of my lashes, the dry spot at the top of my forehead, every hair in my chin… and so on. Over time and throughout various cycles of our life these things change. So do our physical and hormonal sensitives, our expression, our work, our responsibilities and financial positions.
Why is that important or have anything to do with how we apply our makeup?
The answer is, everything!
All of those factors determine what product you buy and how you apply it – and how much time you might have. If you buy the wrong product, you might be de-motivated and uninspired to try anything new or even apply makeup at all. If you buy the correct product but don’t know how to use it properly you could end up frustrated and or throw it away – what a waste!
Would it not be more simple to first connect to your own face?
I mean really look at your skin and face shape and each of your features, appreciating your incredible beauty as well as taking note of what may need support.
What do you want to highlight?
What needs to be protected?
What needs to be hydrated?
What needs to be mattified (less oily)?
What colours suit you? (look to your favourite clothes or jewellery for inspiration!)
What if I were to teach you what the purpose of each makeup product is and how it’s best used to achieve different results. If we combined this with you being completely in touch with your own beauty, would you then not become your very own expert makeup artist?
Let me know what products you want to know more about?
What skin types do they best suit?
What coverage do they have and how much pigment do they contain?
How long lasting are they?.., and so on!
The most important thing about makeup is that you enjoy being in your own skin. Once you are connected to your own beauty, applying make up is simple and a pure joy.
Ask me any question you like about any makeup product, how to use it, and or if it is the correct one for you and your skin.
Lots of love,
Terri-Anne xx
